EDRAM General Assembly and Spring Meeting 200721-04-08
Also associated with the Spring Meeting was a meeting of EDRAM members with Andris Piebalgs, EU Commissioner of Energy and Transportation, to exchange views on the long-term management of HLW and to explore opportunities for cooperation between the EU and EDRAM. At the meeting with Commissioner Piebalgs EDRAM members learned more about the plans for a new high-level EU group on nuclear safety, which included nuclear waste matters in its mandate. Changes in membership are approved at the General Assembly and at this meeting the following changes were authorized. The Canadian Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NMWO) replaced Ontario Power Generation (OPG) as the member representing Canada, with Ken Nash continuing to be the representative. The UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) replaced NIREX as the member representing the UK, with Richard Waite being the nominated representative. <- Back to: News |
